Tickets £15

We keep being asked when are Joey the Lips coming back so this year
we are opening our season with them. Get ready to dance the night away
with this brilliant 10 piece band.
Originally formed 15 years ago as a soul outfit the band is described
now as a Soul/Blues/Funk outfit with a bit of Disco, Motown & Rock
thrown in! Within todays set are classic soul numbers such as Otis
Redding's
Try a
Little Tenderness and Aretha Franklin's
Think,
but also popular contemporary classics like Queen's
Don't
Stop Me Now and the band's storming version of the B52's
Love
Shack - with a heavy metal medley thrown in!
Jimmy Alderson shares lead vocals with Naomi Tanton and Kat Savage.
Naomi Tanton joined the band in 2000 after working professionally with
national trio Fresh and at Channel 4 on their Music Watch programme.
Jimmy's early music career as a
professional vocalist was by way of working internationally in Europe as
well as maintaining a regular spot with his own soul-based outfit at the
BBC Club, London. After relocating to Devon he joined Joey The Lips in
2003. Kat is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Contemporary Music
where she gained a degree in vocal studies. She has worked with Chad
Smith of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers as well as Skunk Anansie and Carleen
Anderson

"Joey the Lips are a big funky outfit making a joyous sound in the
true spirit of the soul band revue - great entertainment"
